Certainly the elites oppress and repress the masses. They always have, but they treat "the masses" as a herd.
It behooves the dedicated /out/doorsman—who is always a conservationist and avid sportsman in the tradition of Theodore Roosevelt, the undisputed greatest American outdoorsman of all time—to keep proles out of wild spaces.
I'm conflicted on this, because I do believe that Americans have a right to commonwealth/heritage waterways. For years, I've been opposed to rich people blocking off lakes, beaches, etc. that are supposed to be public access, usually illegally (and certainly unethically and immorally), as in:
