tl;dr any recs on cheap vehicles for towing a 2,500lb trailer? Care most about reliability and good value. If used minivans are better values I'm fine with that since this is only being driven on trips.

We snagged a good condition vintage trailer at a very good price, but I have two compact shit boxes for commuting and a Silverado. The Silverado is a two seater though, and we have a new kiddo so it no longer works as a go to for trips.

I'm having a hard time narrowing my search. The trailer has pretty shit clearance, so a wagon that can tow is fine, although I wouldn't mind more clearance to get to trailheads once the trailer is off.

Trying to stay around $20k because I don't want to borrow money, but I also tied up a bunch of my cash in T bills and CDs to hold back inflation so I have less on hand.

Ford Escape any good?
