then again, who knows? looking at photos of my parents in the late 80s they wore nothing but trainers when hiking quite some steep slopes even in winter and later after i came about the first shoes other than sneakers i remember wearing in the mountains were my moms army boots which fit me quite well at about 12 but they were so heavy in comparison taking them off at the peak my feet started to feel like they were floating up by themselves
