>>2461468plenty of fish up that way. from the shore you can catch pollock and mackerel (lots of them in the summer).
if you can get access to a boat and go a bit offshore you can catch cod quite easily. you could also put out lobster pots.
most of the rivers and lochs hold brown trout.
salmon and sea trout too in the correct places. Salmon and sea trout can be poached if you want to avoid paying for permits. If it's just one for the pot you're unlikely to get more than a telling off.
as for terrestrial. well, there is obviously plenty of venison around. but legal access to it is expensive. poaching isn't unheard of, and if you do get caught the sentences are usually surprisingly lenient (especially for first offence, and assuming it's just one for the pot type of thing), but you need legal access to a rifle (don't use a rifle illegally, that's a serious offence which usually comes with a custodial sentence.). You also need to know what you're doing. Hunting dear is hard. Trying to do it at night is much harder still.
If you can get an air rifle you can target smaller prey like pigeons, squirrels. Not sure if there is many rabbits up by Ullapool?
Again this can be done legally with landowners permission or illegally (at your own risk).
