Any of you /out/ers have experience in the fingerlakes region? Just moved here and I'm having a really difficult time finding any spots not ruined by normies. Apparently hiking is huge here so trails are trash littered, stink like weed and are practically paved.

Maybe go a bit further /out/ than Watkins Glen then. Most state forests are your friend if you want solitude, except during hunting season.

You can have quality /out/ adventures in the FLX, even if it's not on the same level as the ADK. Also more retirees/yuppies = fewer people going to the more hardcore places like Hi Tor.

I live in Pennsylvania but Ithica is under a 2 hour drive away from me. A friend and I went there back in May and it was cool but nothing amazing. However when we went to Taughannock Falls State Park we literally saw 5 people the entire time we were there so we were alone for the majority of the time. It’s probably packed now but I’d still recommend seeing the falls.
