Went foraging for the first time a few days ago, didn't get super much but it was pretty fun anyways. Here's what I was able to spot and harvest in september in a normal german forest:
- Plenty of beechnuts, but mostly rotten ones on the forest floor.
- Blackberries
- stinging nettles
- some broadleaf plantain
- black elderberries, though they were deep in blackberry bushes and I did not wear proper pants to harvest it because of that.
- dandelion
- rose hips, though I was not 100% sure if they were safe so I didn't harvest those
I also found a plant that I'd sworn was from the brassica family, but I couldn't tell exactly what it was.
Maybe not much, but it seems like a fun hobby, can't wait for spring.
Picrel were some experiments, the dandelion with some garlic was very tasty, the broadleaf plantain was interesting too, though a bit less delicate. Not a big fan of the nettles, will have to try some other methods to prepare them. Obv. the chicken and carrot were not foraged.
