>Me and my buddy were the 2 that was stuck up on Barring Mountain summit. We started the hike around 6:30 am. Not knowing that there was a fire in the area. We made. It to the summit and then saw the fire a couple of ridges over.

At this point. We headed back down and started heading down the boulder ridge area where the ridge was on the left and right side of us. As soon as we started down that the ridge was engulf in flame. We could feel the heat coming off of it.

The fire was now coming from behind us and to the left of us. At this point. We started to head back up the v notch to stay away from the trees.

We contacted 911 and sent out a SOS signal. We talk the the sheriff office and they told us that they could not get a helicopter to us because it was unsafe. Winds smoke and fire. We were told to hunker down. We waited about an hour and the fire seemed like it died down. So we started back down the v notch and as soon as we got halfway down.

The wind picked backed up and the fire was going back up the ridge. At this time it was burning the left and right of the ridge. We made a decision that we will die trying getting off the mountain. We skirted along the right heading down and we ended up finding a dry creek bed with numerous waterfalls that we had to climbed down. We got to a point where the waterfall ended on top of a 500 foot cliff with no way down.
