- Big Agnes King Solomon 35 + Big Agnes Rapid SL pad 72" x 40" + Sea2Summit double liner - this is a 35F double bag with a double liner on a double pad. The bag is sort of a rectangular bag / quilt hybrid, where the pad integrates into the bottom of the bag, and there's no down fill on the bottom. Coupled with the plush 3.5" high double pad, with the sheer and stretchy liner sheet, I swear its like 95% the same as just sleeping at home in a regular bed. My wife and I love it. There is actually a small weight savings over a two separate bags. Bonus: the quilt portion of the bag completely detaches from the bottom, so you can use to cozy up around camp or use it as the under-quilt for a hammock setup.
- 2x Big Agnes 3N1 Lost Ranger 15 + 2x Big Agnes Rapid SL pad 66" x 40" + 2x Sea2Summit double liner -. These are "3 in 1" systems composed of a 50F rectangular/quilt hybrid and a 35F mummy bag. When run together, they're comfort rated down to 15F. Like the King Solomon above, the quilt is one of those hybrid setups where the pad integrates into the bottom. The quilts can also be connected to form a 50F double bag.
So there are a lot of possible in-between configs of the above:
- 35F double bag (The King Solomon - this is what we run most of the time).
- 50F double bag (The Lost Ranger 50F quilts connected together)
- 35F solo mummies (The Lost Ranger 35F Mummies - we've done this while hutting or other places with bunk beds)
- 15F double or solo (The Lost Ranger mummy + quilt combined - for the shoulder season)
- -5F double (Putting the 35F Lost Ranger mummies inside the 35F King Solomon double, it's hella warm, like -5F at least. Great for winter camping together)
- Solo hammock camping (Detach the 35F quilt from the King Solomon and use it as the under quilt and sleep in a 35F Lost Ranger mummy).
We also have a 72" x 40" x 1/8" EVA foam pad we throw down under the double pad (or fold in half when going solo).
