My parents passed away last night in a car accident. I've been buying a lot of high end hiking gear for the past few months wanting to start hiking, I've been pumping myself full of Xanax to detach myself from the whole situation but I know I'll eventually have to confront reality, there's no escape. I plan on driving to the Adirondacks and doing as many peaks as possible to get away from all this, give it to me straight, how dangerous is it really go to hiking in the high peaks? I have all the gear necessary and even bought a Garmin InReach 2 in case I get into an emergency. Are the conditions too harsh around this time of year? Thanks in advance.
