Also nice is walking the train tracks when the tourist train-ride isn't running (runs during summer)(don't walk all parts of the tracks, avoid when visible from the road like on North Side of mountain). Also walking the sides of the mountain is fun.
You can put a really nice walk together weaving Cherokee Trail, Train Tracks and Mountain Slab walking. God I really love Stone Mountain Park. Robert E Lee and Stonewall Jackson look down on me and protect me.
