>>2461803>TarptentIt’s the reason I can’t stand r/Ultralight. It became a serious Tarptent circlejerk maybe 6 years ago. I can understand fanboyism but it was ridiculous, and it left a bad taste in my mouth (the circlejerk, lol). What do you hate about them? Please further my bias.

Mine is right over 13lbs. I could drop a pound by leaving the novel at home and another ~6oz by not bothering with the pole mod, both of which are just luxuries. A hammock with an attached bugnet would make more sense when I’m taking the quilts but wouldn’t work in the warmer months (when I would leave both quilts at home, probably two pounds). My tarp is big and old; I’ll probably switch to a Mini Fly next year.
Dutchware Hexon 1.0 netless
Warbonnet Mamajamba tarp
Wilderness Logics bugnet
1” poly straps with Strap Anchors
Zing-it guylines and tarp flies
JRB Shenandoah 40° multifunction quilt
JRB Mt Washington 20° 3/4 length underquilt
Sea to Summit sleeping bag liner
Supercat stove with a 12cm Imusa mug
Blackdiamond headlamp
ExPed UL pillow

Probably missing a few things. Heavier or colder rain would mean leaving the umbrella and taking the Packa.
