>>2466241Big Bend is great. I have not stayed in the park yet, usually at a private campsite in Terlingua, but the park is great and the state park west of Terlingua is close to deserted most of the time.
Palo Duro is also great but can be pretty crowded. Same, have not stayed in the park just done day trips. Really nice area I need to go back to.
On the east side, Caddo Lake area is good for paddling. Great for paddling actually. Not much to do around there otherwise.
Day hike wise Dinosaur state park is fun and has dinosaur tracks. Usually packed.
I have been here only 2 years so don't know a lot else. Just accept the fact that shit is way far apart here and you will have to drive. Big ass state.
