Moving to the blue ridge mountains. I want to take up deer hunting (rifle). I have a bit of experience hunting deer in the Midwest, but not a lot. Any considerations I need to take into account for hunting in the mountains? What kind of rifle would you suggest for this environment? What’s the hunting pressure like on public land in these parts?
