What are the chances this chinese piece of shit is worth the money? I was thinking of trying it out with some of picrel sewn to the bottom for insulation. thoughts?

Self-inflating air cell foam mattresses, foam pads, cots, all of them have substantial downsides. It's infuriating, because I can find a perfect pack, tent, sleeping bag, stove, pair of shoes or boots, et cetera (for my current needs, the season, and where I'll be /out/), but the "insulating layer" is always annoying in some way.

With cots, the downside is that they cost the same as a deluxe air foam mattress, weigh about the same, are bulkier, are uncomfortable by themselves, and are under deep suspicion of falling apart. I mean, a 2-5 lb. thing supporting an entire person is sketchy even with the best materials. I feel like backpacking cots would work best for petite Asian women.

I promise you that a generic Chinese cot will fall apart. I guarantee it. Even on the sites for premium backpacking brands, cots tend to be downrated for their lack of ruggedness.

you need to read the whitepaper on it and find the distance that the r value is rated for. reflectix needs a lot of space between it and what its reflecting from to work, like the size of a room. and also you make a lot less body heat than people think. i did the math on something similar before, and also tried it, and it didn't work.
