Would a fixed 2.5X power optic, say like a a primary arms slx ACSS prism, be adequate to use on a .308 hunting rifle in the thick woods of PA?

My tree stand is in some thick stuff and I just got the .308. Typically, I use a 7mm-08 with a 3-9X, but I had the 2.5X primary arms laying around from a previous AR build.
