It costs MSR $90, max, to have these manufactured and shipped.from China. People will buy them full-priced from MSR's website, but by selling through vendors both online and in brick-and-mortar stores, they'll sell more tents. It's not a problem if their vendors undercut them. They make a shitload of money either way.

Even gear sellers are LARPing these days, pretending it's still the good ol' days when they were respectable and their products were made of quality materials by skilled laborers at American factories.
