I'm a faded natural tones kinda guy, but if I had to pick a suite of actual patterns, it'd be picrel - the specific choice would vary based on climate/season obviously. I guess the M01 is more or less directly interchangeable with Tropentarn, but I prefer the redder browns of the M01.

Rain hits the sweetspot of not feeling too much like camouflage, but actually offering a slight improvement over the base color. I've been considering making some stamps (like the Jap cherry blossoms for example) and adding some subtle patterning to some of my kit. Of course, just caking everything in mud has the same effect.

Mine is an Arktis. Some of the pictured ones are from Tacgear. I assume the Danish ones are OOP, since the Danish Defence switched to Multicam like everybody else. Maybe Sabre made some as well? My M01 jacket is from Sabre, but it's a simple field jacket, not a smock. I guess you'll have to keep an eye on eBay and the like.

I'm the Danish/German flecktarn enthusiast. As sad as I was to see it dropped, I must admit that Multicam is much more effective in a much broader range of terrain, even though the M84 is still king in Scandinavian forests.

I like Flecktarn, not for any practical reasons, I just think it looks nice.
For any practical uses, anything that'll break up a silhouette is usually good - a net with some vegetation works great. You can also use those cheap chinese nets with fake leaves, and add real vegetation on top. I think some of the very fine digi camos are supposed to be really good, but I don't like them quite as much from an aesthetic standpoint.

Here in the midwest some /k/ friends of mine got together and we did a summer and fall/winter test of camo we had on hand. We had a 2 acre plot where one person wearing the camo would go and hide and 5min later we would search for them.

Woodland, coyote tan, UCP apple green dye, and flecktarn.

Oddly enough Coyote tan, despite being one solid color did the best in the fall and even in the greener summer time.

I like coyote too, but olive is just pleasing to look at and supremely easy on the eyes. I think lately I have developed some sort of photo-sensitivity issue because I find all loud synthetic colors very offensive. They make me mentally nauseous. Another color I love is the RAL 7013 brown-grey

Multicam. Because it's one of the best camos and it pisses off larpers like no other.

Whenever I see a person who's deeply infatuated with hipster camos (Russian, Germany, Scandinavian countries, etc.), it's like they're wearing a gigantic sign over their head saying "I AM SOCIALLY AWKWARD AND WEIRD" and it's always, always, always the case.
