They hang around the edges of woodlines in tall grass, and crawl onto you as you walk through. The only thing I've found that prevents them is spraying deet all over the lower half of your body, but I hate using that shit. Also avoiding tall grass on the edge of woodlines but that's almost never possible. They're very common where I'm from in the south. Not sure about other places.

For reference, anon is being a smug pedantic faggot here because chiggers don't "bite" per se (that is, close jaws or mandibles), but rather "drill" into the skin.

Very much like mosquitoes, except that chiggers suck up enzyme-digested skin cells instead of blood.

People who complain about mosquitoes live in places that don’t have chiggers. The irony is that they don’t have the extremely aggressive Asian tiger mosquito either, which only lives in the same region as chiggers.

Mosquito bites last maybe 30 minutes on me, and they’re not that itchy. I credit my parents with taking me outside a lot when I was a kid, but that might not be why. Chigger bites last for weeks and itch a lot more.

U can treat all your items with it, I advise not doing it to socks/undies or a shirt base layer though. Kills ticks within a min or less and most insects for that matter. lasts 5 washes but I reapply after 4 and you can make your own dilution if you buy the solution. If anyone is worried about ticks and doesn't use this they deserve to be allergic to meat
