>>2472157>all these faggots hiking 4k ft cliffs thinking they're climbing fucking everesta lot of those 4k's are actually super dangerous during the winter depending on where you live. another local anon and i were joking about how often retards over-estimate themselves and die in the cascades last time there was a thread like this.
don't be like one of the retards who manages to die on my training hike route every year.
>>2472157get a job this winter.
save up.
do a guided summit next summer.
>"B-BUT YOU DONT UNDERSTAND!! WINTER HIKING IS A WHOLE DIFFERENT BEAST MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY SHORT HIKES"lets say we know each other irl. if you show interest in mountaineering and show no initiative to learn for yourself by doing those shorter hikes, then i'll never take you under my wing. its not elitist, you're a massive liability to anyone willing to teach you. not only can you die on these trips pretty easily, you can easily put everyone else's life at risk too. i'm agreeing to fucking CHAIN MYSELF to you if we're going mountaineering half the time. trust is important.
a lot of people like myself have become jaded to just letting anyone off the streets come along. the last time i hiked with people from facebook one of them managed to die and we had to carry her body out and it was really sad and tragic, lady had a family and all that.
learn mountains in the fall. learn winter hiking where its flat for a few years. demonstrate you can learn for yourself and you're not some pussy who needs to be hand held. then you might find an experienced person willing to risk their life teaching you.
sry but honestly to get into this you either have to know someone or your dad has to have been into it and taught you young. or you have to have money for guided tours.
right now you're on noobie level: "I WANT TO LEARN IN THE WINTER!!!11" which is a giant red flag. learn in the summer. you shouldn't even be doing winter mountaineering with under 5 years experience under your belt desu
