How long did it take you to get it?

I'm saving up to get mine next year to become a professional hunter ("Revierjäger"), but I don't really know where to start.

schlaf mal eine nacht im deutschen wald. da bekommst du das kotzen. alle paar minuten ballert ein pseudo-jäger durch die gegend. selbst während der schonzeit. tagsüber läufst du ständig in schlecht gebaute hochsitze... am besten alle anzünden & umsägen. jagbetrieb muss stärker reguliert werden. deutschland ist für großvater- büchsen einfach zu klein.

Ok als jagdaufseher hast du wohl echt sinn... wobei ich ja ständig im wald biwak mache, immer eine messer weit über 12 cm dabei, und dazu auch das entsprechende feuer. jedoch hinterlasse ich keinen müll. zerstöre auch keine bäume.

wie gesagt einfach mal eine nacht im wald verbringen. das reinste kriegsgebiet.

I heard it's the equivelent of two years study in biology. I don't quite believe that. What's the truth?

A short answer is fine; assume a German citizen is asking. I have no plans to hunt in Germany; just want to know what it takes.

It's called the green Abitur, Abitur being the German High School Diploma.
It takes about 6 months of study if you only do it on weekends, and around 2 weeks in a full time course. It costs ~€2000 from what I've heard.

the same counts for the fishing licence. complicate training course system, expensive: separate the wheat from the chaff. but you will still meet enough idiots with a licence.

holly fuck, 6 months and 2000 euros just to go hunting/fishing. sounds like you all need some serious help.

on a related note, how is the illegal poaching/fishing? i would imagine lots of people are doing that with this steep of restrictions on doing it legally.

I only would do this in a extreme situation. Besides this: Germany is a small Country. German People reporting everything to the Authorities.
