You know, I've been on /g/ for some years now and the people there complaining about off topic threads just never shut up. They don't, and they never accomplish anything with their nagging. You know why that is? Because the majority of that board consists of people who come there because they have a COMMON INTEREST. They all share the same passion and if on of them comes along and asks what cooking pan he should buy, then he's asking his bros from /g/ and that's perfectly fine.
This thread however is not "utterly unrelated", it's just fine. Now please, just hide the thread. Oh well, it's ruined anyway.
