Have a fire, it burns the dead grass and twigs close enough to it to get hot enough to combust, then the green grass once it gets hot enough. As soon as it's at the outer limit of it's heat, the burning stops.
I really think this is from too many people seeing the rocks around fires in kids picture books.
TLDR: Just have a fucken fire, cunts.
