I'm trying to find a good video camera for my trips innawood. I don't really care for photography, I would mainly use it for videos.

Anyone been using these shock proof cameras?
What are you guys using?

Canon COOLPIX B500, I used it for P.I. work, took pretty good photos and videos.

No longer bring neither my dslr nor mirrorless anymore, those point and shoots are obsolete tech, especially for video.

daysoo this is probably the best option, providing you have a battery bank or something to keep your phone topped up. Newer phones' cameras are on par with decent point and shoots

stand alone cameras if you aren't constantly taking pics is lame, and gopros fucking CHEW through batteries

i have a shitty phone, id rather spend a few hundred bucks on a decent camera thatll last at least a few years than buy a new phone with a good camera for 1000 that will last the same time or less.

seem like decent looking options but are these types of cameras durable? any maintenance or other BS to worry about or can i just get one out the box and run with it

I got the waterproof version of that camera for snorkeling in Hawaii and it worked great. Only thing is if you take videos it drains the battery quite a bit but regular pics the battery life was perfectly fine.
