But yeah, otherwise they need to get kicked to send a message, the entire reason for going /out/ is to appreciate non-manmade beauty. I suppose the one exception is that if you are really truly /out/ in the wilderness (not just hiking established trails in state parks), there are circumstances where cairns could be helpful or even essential as navigational aids, terrain warnings, etc. That's different than girls doing it as statement of vanitys and for instagram points.
