I was looking for planter boxes for lettuce and other crops that don't need a huge amount of soil depth and noticed that quite a few are egregiously overpriced. Looking at alternatives for the premade planters: I have DIY skills, but unfortunately no heavier tools e.g. saws or drills. I was considering using heavy-duty totes. They're ugly but they get the job done and are relatively cheap. Is there any option I'm not considering here barring woodworking? Aluminum ones are also off the table as I only have a patio that I can use.
