I bought a bike about a week ago and the brakes make an awful screeching noise, it is normal? Shoud I just wait for them to erode a bit more?

Dirty brakes or rotors. They might be glazed too. Try a little brake cleaner. Some pad compounds are quieter than others. Squeaky breaks are inevitable though

The brakes are new and they were making noise as soon as I took the bike out of the store. I read somewhere that it could be precisely because they are new and are not very worn out yet

Next summer I plan to take a small 8kg max backpack and do some tarp camping with no sleeping bag. Only my XC bike and my small backpack. Shit like this is not common, I'm gonna payooner a new form of extreme overnight bike bushcraft hiking while shredding trails

Wild beach camping in Portugal. Was trippy since I stealthily arrived at 1am, couldn’t tell if the high tide would give me a wet wake up alarm, or if the eroding cliff above me would send a PT cruiser-sized boulder on me/my bike. Woke up to 18c sunny and made a coffee on muh stove
