Why do my ears hurt so much when i drive fast with my windows open?? Should i get some kind of hat with a folding bill on the sides that covers my ears and shields them from the wind because of how fast I drive or should i just buy big orange earplugs?? Huh? If you have a big ass head like me yes, the hat with flaps will be useful. Otherwise you could literally go buy a cotton polyester blend winter beanie like Tim pool. You can get it at the grocery store for a dollar around here. As far as outdoor gear goes, I only spend good money on things that are the highest quality. Everything else I do on the cheap. I have a $200 Mossberg shotgun and I have a $25 tent from Amazon. I could probably do a whole camping trip for $1,000 less than many Bros on here.

Being in nature is enjoyable whether you're taking something from it or not.
Some hunters go to the mountains with the same mindset of someone going to the grocery store, their only intent is acquiring and consooming. It's really pathetic.

I wear $10 baseball caps from Amazon with no logos on them. I buy 2-3 and that lasts me like 5 years or until I inevitably forget one at a camping spot. I do the same for orange gaiters that I just tie around my hat or neck during hunting season.

In the winter I buy $30-40 Russian styled fake fur hats. The ones that have flaps that can be tied on top if you don't want them over your ears. Why splurge on hats? I'd rather splurge on stuff like quality thermal underwear/shirts, thermal sleeping pads, a good tent like a Hilleberge.. Or save the money for a dirt bike, vehicle upgrade, whatever.
