I know this, travel coffee cups and water bottles mostly fucking sucked in the 1980s-2000s. Leaked, cheap as shit, shit insulation, etc. Not to say there was nothing good, the classic nalgene hiking bottles, Thermoses, and canteens worked fine, but designer consumer shit was trash.
Now I can buy a $10 Contigo coffee flask from Fatmart and it absolutely never leaks, can be run over by a truck, push one button to drink, stays hot for hours. Similar deal, many good water bottles.
Other than Internet speeds, liquid flasks are one of the very few things that have absolutely improved since the turn of the century. Computers have "improved" but the games and software actually made for them fucking suck ass and spy on you. Real professional CAD programs, music synthesizers, business software, etc. haven't changed much in two decades.
