The top models are all about the same when it comes to battery usage.
350 is already very bright for illuminating the trail. More than most regular hiking headlamps can do.
800+ lumen is great for quickly glancing down a trail, or spotting something that's up to 100m away.
Even with the "3000" lumen models you won't get much further than 100m. With 800 or more lumen it depends much more on the cone, glass and reflector what your field of view and max distance is.
