Where I live the native boar genome is long extinct, it has been completely replaced by boars imported from less overexploited countries.
The new subspecies is obviously completely unsuitable for our environment and causes all sorts of problems. Hunters act as if what they do helps keep them in check and don't seem to acknowledge that they started the problem to begin with.
Meanwhile they continue pumping asiatic pheasants and waterfowl in the territory, plummeting the already dwindling amphibian populations that are already threatened by invasive fish and crustaceans in our water (thanks to the fishing hobby).
