What is your opinion on spam as a hiking food?

Ingredients:

>Salt

>Sodium nitrite

I was shocked by how short and readable the ingredients list is. I'm not sure how the extreme sodium content would affect a hike so that's the only worrying thing. Apart from the sodium, I think it could be a great idea, what do you guys think?
