First time camping in a french forest for a night.

people say that i should not go alone just in case somehing happens to me and can't do anything.

is it true? what should i do?

btw i'm a skilled 19 years old guy in a very good shape

I'm living in Germany right now surrounded by Heide forest looking for a good place to camp thats out of the way. My test is to go to said location and play my ukulele and watch shit on my tablet. If no one comes then I'm good to go. My only concern is hunters and being unable to speak any German.

Most people in Germany can speak at least some English.
If you got a phone with you, you can propably call for help in Germany, even outdoors.

Hunters normally do not shoot people. There is only a small amount of hunting-accidents per year in Germany.

Be a little careful about wild boars. If they have got little piglets, they could be aggressive.

Your biggest risk is getting caught camping.
Camping in France is illegal on 94% of the territory.

Nothing else can happen to you. Wildlife isn't going to be a problem, there are no insects nor snakes you have to fear, and your greatest risk might just be some venomous mushrooms, if you're stupid enough to eat them.

You'll be fine.

Normally it is forbidden but the French tolerate it, if you don´t light a fire and don´t litter.

This is at least my experience with illegal camping in France. I got caught some times and never had to pay a fine.

You should take clothes for change. At least socks and underwear for one change.
Wet or dirty clothing is uncomfortable and a risk to your health.

My personal experience says, that this is more important, than any fancy survival stuff.

Well you need to get caught first. It'll hardly happen, it's forbidden but no one really ever checks. You only need to go camping in places where you can't be seen from any path around, of which there are many, and no one will see you.

That is, as long as you don't camp on private property, because then people will tend to flip their shit, welcome you with a hunting rifle and call the police, especially in some of the most uncivilized areas.

I don't think you understand. When I find a camping spot I will frequent I stay there during the day to see if anyone comes for a few days and go back at night. I don't usually take my tablet with me as its added weight.
Everyone on /out/ should get themselves a basic kindle however.
800+ books many of them read on the trail and even bought on the trail through 3g.

I go outside alone all the time..... just don't do stupid shit like wander really far off a trail into the woods if you don't know how to get back. I go rock climbing alot but I know when to look at a face and say "Not alone, dipshit". Just go out and have fun..... the outdoors can be as safe as your basement or as dangerous as the stove (What I assume to be the most dangerous thing you've come in contact with around the house)
