>>2491721>alcoholismPretty fucking bad. Honestly I felt like I was developing it just being there a few years. It's cheap, plentiful, and the only thing to do in deep winter time. That's certainly the vice of choice, I never saw any other problems on that scale. Stuff like weed is considered on par with heroin, and honestly the population is so small and dispersed it isn't worth trafficking.
>investingI suspect as long as you know the right people in the political scene you can do anything. Honestly the country is in dire need of investment but given the weird layout of the county it's challenging to distribute investment properly or have it not just benefit the capital area.
>importThere's a decent rail line from China, so all the nice stuff like big TVs and whatnot comes that way. Most everyone I knew had knock off junk, like iPhones that booted up with some weird command line, or computers with Windows PCs with "Diamond Edition"
>literacyPretty impressive, actually. The Soviets did a few things right and building schools is one of them. They are also starting to teach the old script, from what I saw.
>ecological disasterClimate change is really messing with them due to the weird weather patterns it creates. The blizzards in winter, зyд, are getting worse and worse. Cashmere really fucked up the country even more.
>banditsNot really, taking care of travelers is pretty ingrained into the culture. Even a foreign guy like me was looked after by strangers while on the road. I only saw a handful of old guns, like nagants, and they were more for putting animals down or scaring other animals away from herds.
Honestly, weird country to visit. Wouldn't rec unless you have a lot of disposable income and want to go to someplace very different. The national parks are good for /out/ but I had a better time in Russia.
