>>2491918He's right about a few things, wrong about others.
He's spot-on about the ways that modern society strips people of independence, the mutilated and self-destructive beliefs of leftists, and the ways that grassroots organizing should be done.
But he fails to understand that the sicknesses of our time are nothing new, and they occur in any civilization that has become too centralized for its own good.
The late Hittite or Roman man would probably say that he hates modern society too. History goes in cycles. When a civilization becomes too centralized, it shortly collapses and a period of instability follows. It is during this period of instability that the values making the next civilization great develop. For example, the Greek values developing out of the Greek bronze age collapse was the foundation of all Greco-Roman civilization - That is, reason over emotion, the beauty of youth, and individual freedom. As another example, the values of the European enlightenment - Freedom, equality, reason over feeling, and democracy. These ideas formed the foundation of the new world nations as Europe expanded.
In short, humanity can only produce civilization if it honors individual freedom. The modern sickness of society represents not human civilization as a whole, but rather a late-stage mutation of the original pioneer, freedom-loving, innovative spirit that drove European man to greatness.
