They are not always great for camping though. A lot of muddy and very steep or rock-filled roads that are hard to get through without a nice truck. Then a lot of the ground is just covered in extremely dry pine needles and brush so you can't start a fire. Plus there are a shit load of bugs and often no shade because all the trees are gone.
That's been my experience anyway. I've only camped on logging roads a few times. If I had a dirt bike I would absolutely try to find more logging roads. In Canada they can go for dozens of kilometres, sometimes 100s.
