>>2499055The stove itself is essential desu, we're doing a road trip of distilleries and peaks around Scotland for three weeks in January. We'll be operating out of a car so weight isn't an issue.
We did this a few years ago and didn't have a great time because it was so cold and wet, but we pushed through it (and we used a very expensive tent which was utter dogshit). I'm just seeing if some creature comforts can be added.
All hot tents in the UK seem to be DIY jobs of old ponchos for 1 person, or have a price comparable to the Savotta Hiwu. The Hiwu caught my attention because weather in Finland certainly is harsher than in Scotland so it'll definitely hold up, plus the sides have two angles so there's better usage of corner space, and there are some British retailers: a local store has 3 in stock (weirdly they aren't listed as a retailer on Savotta's website...). Plus it fits 4 people comfortably which is how many are coming.
I'd just buy the two halves, my friend already has a stove to use which is certainly tall enough (the stacking flue is like 4 metres if all parts are used and has a spark arrestor), and I'd just use tybek as a groundsheet.
