With 4-5 (6-8 would be even better) guys you get enough sleep per person with bearable length fire watch shifts.
Given that nobody falls asleep during their own shift and that you've prepared enough firewood for the duration of night you will have warm, safe and cozy sleep. This is how we did it in FDF and it kept us warm even during the coldest of the winter nights. Also the fire watch guy can stay outside the tent and keep an eye out for the campsite too, if you want to larp/are in an area where there may be people/animals that you don't trust.
Picrel is from google because my own army time pictures are on some old memory card, but you get the idea. It was extremely comfy in such tents. I guess there are some ultralight versions of group sized hot tent systems nowadays too.
