>>2498893I think you would definitely want a motor, the current isn't that strong out of the main channel and you aren't going to be in the main channel in a canoe. At least in my area there is 1 or 2 marinas in a section between the locks, I am sure there are sections with nothing though, I mean its over 2000 miles long. Barges stay in the main channel between the buoys unless they are locking through because that's where they keep it dredged and there are quite a few wing damns.
