this is a larper post and its a good thing OP ignored you. for anyone who's never used them before they're called cramplifiers and they're meant specifically and really only for going up steep ascents with deep snow or mixed ice with deep snow. when you're on flats you take them off for normal snow shoes. they even sell a different version of them that's less ultralight but swaps on and off the crampon/boot faster.
if you've ever gone skiing/boarding and used verts to get up a steep hill before, those plates are meant to be the same thing. the auuftrib plates are way better than verts BY THE WAY. good product. there's an american company that sells good ones too, forgot its name.
they're NOT snowshoes and NOT a replacement for snowshoes.
they ARE PROBABLY super useful to have if you do a lot of snowshoeing or any backcountry skiing.
