I tried a Gandalf PCT speedrun but it was just too hot, and I had to hitch out. North to South should be possible though.

You would think that, but no. People who actually give a shit about the history would be quick to correct you that hygiene is incredibly important throughout history and especially while on long journeys.

I've done two week long events bathing in a medieval or early modern manner, and felt just as clean, and smelled just as good. If not little better because I'm using natural soaps and body powders rather than modern detergents.
