What’s your favorite style of camping, on a scale of car camping to multi-day hikes? I think there’s kind of a ratio of how much comfort to adventure you prefer. My sweet spot for enjoyable camping is hiking in, but to a place only a couple miles from the car. I particularly like places where it’s a steep climb over a somewhat short distance, so you get a comfy campsite with a nice view. That way it’s not boring like just car camping but the distance is also short enough that you can have a heavy pack with “unnecessary” comforts like beer or a thick air mattress. What do you think?
