Also to the OP struggling with this, I also am a spastic who does everything in cowboy boots. Entirely dependent on the sole and your sock choice, the rest is just a boot. A raised solid heel does not have great traction, consider hobnails or crampons appropriate for the terrain. The "modern" style with a Vibram boot sole or something similar is just a boot with a stylish top. I have cowboy boots that are CSA approved with steel toes and anti-slip soles, even. Not hard to style on your fellow tradie with such wear, and I wore those fuckers every single day of my life for everything I did for years, until I destroyed the bottoms in a motorcycle crash. I then cut the tops off, added grommets to them, and made them half-chaps so I could top any boot with the westerns. I like my fruity boots.
