How should I go about filtering my water? Use a commercial filter or make one myself?

I've never used a water filter because I'm not american. You can't even find water filters in any stores here lol

There is nothing good in stores in the US either, unless you happen to live close to a decent outfitter. I have always bought my filters online.

I just use an eyedropper with concentrated, normal, sodium hypochlorite bleach.
I just carry a dropper bottle with me. 3 drops of 7% bleach is enough to purify a liter of water.
I haven't got sick from drinking it yet.

run your water source through a distiller.
if your going to diy it.
make a distiller.

use diatomercious earth
and bentonite clay layers too
for a diy filter
why not add some silver,gold leaf and ruby,diamond,and sapphire sapphire dust for that extra bling.

chemical filtration does little for viruses and mechanical filtration does little for pesticides. which one to go for, or both, or boiling on top of it depends on how nasty and in what ways your water source is nasty.
