Winter can be pretty easy. Thermal and wool socks seems to be my standard.
(Some zoomer had a glove thread going earlier. I'd recommend hobo gloves (fingerless basic glove) with a hothand packet)
I've tried multiple setups, 6 person tent. 1 person dent. Dugout between 2 fallen trees, A Frame Tarp, hammock with just paracord. I personally hate tents because if the rare chance you are being approached its near impossible to check surroundings without making a huge "ZZZZZZZ" sound opening tent. But tent is basically safest in winter for keeping warm
Biggest trick with winter is staying dry. Keep spare clothes in a pillow case and if your current pair get soaked swap them out and stay in till morning.
Craziest thing I saw was back when I was more innawoods (no work, lived on savings and those stimmy). I would see elk maybe every other day. Deer were daily occurrence. One time a group of cows wandered near area which scared the fuck out of me because initially you see brown bulk moving branches you think its a fucking bear. Apparently my area was miles off from a farm
Finally. Fuck drones. Fuck flir. Fuck the homeless that sleep on sidewalks and fuck jannies
