Is this the only state that fits these requirements especially wanting to hike mountains?

I was stationed at the worst base in NM and it was terrible but a lot of the state was absolutely gorgeous, sunny, affordable but just was a total dump.

One example is Alamogordo, not super nice but a couple mountains and a few national parks within a couple hours. Not to mention house prices for a nice house ~200k?

Tell me anons why should a non rich flag not become a New Mexican.
