Got a Christmas and /out/ question. I've moved to a state that now only allows knives with blades less than 3" to be carried, I'd like 2.75'ish just because fuckers are retarded and will measure different. It won't get me a good blade, but my family just gift-moneyed me this year with 100 USD that they want to watch me spend on THEIR ACCOUNT. Even worse, they kinda want to watch me buy multiple things.

Are there any blades for 50-60 etc or under so I can buy a bunch of carefully thought out junk food or novelty items so I can make them happier too?

haha smart thinking. i came here to post this. they did that to me with a 2.91" mini griptillian. there's a whole category of knives that advertise at 2.91" and imo tend to be a touch longer irl. they're meant for people who live in 3" law states. cops/da's/prosecutors/etc know about this and will fuck with you if you wind up in a situation involving a knife they have to deal with. like 2.75" ish is the move if you want to be totally sure you're in the clear. probably not a big deal if its just bing chilling in your pocket, but who knows, i didn't plan on getting carjacked that day either.

and cities you may go to with said knife. where i live its a whole mess of random different styles of locks being legal or illegal, fixies being a felony or totally legal, depending on which city 10 mins away from each other you're in. i've heard any state with old knife laws tends to be like this.
sometimes cities with these laws have exceptions for /out/ shit by the way, also worth checking if you plan to use it for that.

I'm in my 30's. Hypothetically, we all break laws all the time, but, let's just say I have had nothing but pleasant encounters with police and no criminal record. That does not mean people should intentionally violate the law because you're not likely to get into trouble especially when it comes to "Possession of-" laws.

Oh and the legal ramications is 2.5K and/or one year in prison, and if it's used that gets bumped up to 25K AND 1-3 on top of whatever you're getting for whatever alleged crime.

Does anyone have any sturdy knife recommendations, or is this just a /pol/ offshoot?

nothing most of the time. then you can be sitting in traffic on your way to school minding your own business and have a bipoc crackhead try to carjack you while being white. at which point the state charges you with everything they can legal or otherwise and the knife's responsible for a few years worth of the 25 years minimum sentencing you walk into trial facing. any questions? :^)

But if you ever go to Aspen, CO with even a butterknife you'll be breaking their faggoty law against carrying any knife, period.

I carry a fucking well-concealed handgun wherever I go (except through tsa and into concerts with thorough searches) and I've never had a problem. Don't look for trouble and you won't find trouble. You're fears about being charged with a knife crime are unwarranted unless you're a felon or doing felonious shit.
