Anyway, all I can say is this: Before 2022, ukrainians I knew and worked with, (and I worked with a lot of them) when I asked, why they aren't joining the war effort, they all said:
"Fuck that, I'm not going to die over some squabbles between the oligarchs". And I understood that. It was still a "local" conflict back then.
It all changed on February 24. When war went full scale, with all the bombings, civilian casualties, destruction of hard earned homes...
All things changed. They all (well, all of those I knew) went to fight, their families came here or to other EU countries.
BTW, wasnt it a little similar with the US?
First some fights over money, than the British come in and shit gets real?
