I've lived in central Texas for my whole life, been wanting to plan an /out/ing now that spring is coming up. looking for recommendations, so far ive been to:

been several times. love me granite. love me live oak. almost got lost in a cave on the first big rock formation
>government canyon
pretty, but they're bitches about camping
>davy crockett
only car camped, havent seen too much in the way of hikes

I want to go to

only reason i haven't been is because of the distance. too far for me to want to go by myself

where do you like to go /out/, texanon? what are some places to avoid? does anyone actually live in the panhandle? whats winter?
