>>2522436I do all sorts shit, construction, welding, tree felling, land clearing. Theres lots of opportunities if you put yourself out there. Challis is more stereotypical podunk idaho, salmon is pretty cool, good mix of ranchers and artist types, lots of live music and outdoorsy folks. Central/East idaho is the best, tons of public land, hotsprings, rivers, hikes, biking, skiing, backpacking. I do fishing trips on the middle fork of the salmon, day trips on the main salmon and bootleg some day fishing on surrounding creeks for friends. Its no bozeman or missoula but i like it that way. All the access without the traffic, you just might not have as much community depending on what your looking for, salmon is pretty chill with lots of young folk. The area triples in population during fire season and theres a shit load of women who guide work fire or forestry. Pretty nice. As far as terrain, its fucked. People dont really understand, its not the highest elevation but its extremely rugged. Steep, rocky, and lots of areas with deadfall. The trees dont get super thick so blowdowns are common, beatles are making an impact and fires seem to be more common. All in all its great if you like the idea of rugged and rural.
