This is more of a /sci/ question, my dude.

But I will take pity. Micro works, but it damages the nutrients in your food, which defeats the whole point of freeze drying ($3000 machine) vs dehydrating ($30 machine). You can google if you have further questions.

I think most people just enjoy the powdery crunch rather than aim to preserve all vitamins
you can buy fresh fruit if that's your goal

there's no such thing as "can't buy"

I mean I understand why you would want to carry less while hiking, but you absolutely don't need to worry one bit about micronutrients when hiking for a day or two
